PLAB Examiner

PLAB Examiners

We need practising clinicians to act as examiners for Part 2 of the

PLAB test, which is an OSCE, taken at the GMC Clinical Assessment

Centre in Manchester.

You must be able to demonstrate that you have the experience,

knowledge and skills at the level of senior doctor within your specialty.

This is either as an independent practitioner such as a Consultant

or qualified GP, or as a senior doctor in your specialty and you must

meet all other eligibility criteria, which includes having successfully

completed membership examinations at the relevant medical college.

In particular, you must have knowledge and understanding of the duties

and responsibilities of a doctor successfully completing F1. Applicants

must be fully registered with a licence to practise and have a reasonable

expectation of being in this position for at least five years. Applicants

must be in good standing with the GMC and the relevant Royal College

or faculty.

As part of our commitment to diversity, we seek members from a wide

range of backgrounds and actively encourage applications from BME

doctors, female doctors and doctors with a disability. We offer a daily

rate of £310 with reasonable expenses and the flexibility necessary

for you to fulfil your other commitments.

If you are interested in becoming a PLAB Examiner or know of someone

who may be interested, please go to the recruitment pages on our
