Assessment Delivery Administrators (18 month fixed term contracts)
The General Medical Council (GMC) is expanding their Clinical Assessment Centre team and has opportunities currently available for talented Assessment Administrators to join their Assessment Delivery team. Within these roles at the GMC you will enjoy plenty of variety in working with doctors and health professionals and make a positive impact protecting patients.
The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and take action when they are not met.
The Assessment Delivery Team run Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board exams, the Tests of Competence, and the Revalidation Assessments in our purpose-built assessment centres.
The Assessment Delivery Administrators lead on or support other team members with running the exams. This can include administrative preparation of test materials, setting up and taking down the equipment and paperwork on the circuits, working alongside our associates (role players and examiners), supporting the candidates taking the assessments on the day and answering phone and email queries for various stakeholders.
What are we looking for?
This is a customer facing role and is based in our offices in Spinningfields, Manchester.
You’ll need administrative experience, a keen eye for detail and a passion for customer service. Experience in events or customer facing roles would also be preferred as well as good prioritisation skills with the ability to manage your own workload. A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with people face-to-face and by phone and email, you should also be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
Please note that due to the nature of the work involved this post is an office-based role located within the Clinical Assessment Centre at 3 Hardman Street/3 Hardman Square. The successful candidates will be required to attend the GMC offices to carry out the role. A full risk assessment will be carried out. Candidates will also be required to work some Saturdays as part of the role.
