Project Manager x2 12 month fixed term contracts

Project Manager  (Education & Standards) – London /Manchester

Project Manager  (Registration & Revalidation) - Manchester

Are you looking for an exciting Project Manager role that will give you an opportunity to join an organisation which really makes a difference?

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards and take action when they are not met.

Education and Standards (London or Manchester)

You will work as part of a team leading a range of projects in medical education and training, these include both internally and externally facing projects with the opportunity to work with a wide range of stakeholders. Examples of our work may be found here.

Our wide-ranging projects tackle any subject which may impact on education now and in the future, this 12 month role will enable you to develop your skills, knowledge and experience in health regulation and specifically medical education and training.

Registration and Revalidation (Manchester)

We have a great opportunity to join the GMC as a Project Manager. As part of a project team within the Registration and Revalidation directorate, this 12-month fixed term role will help deliver a portfolio ranging from our continued response to the coronavirus pandemic to working on legislative reform.

If the fixed-term role becomes permanent, the successful candidate may be made permanent without a further recruitment campaign.

Candidate Pool

We also want to create a pool of appointable L3 project talent so that we can recruit to future roles quickly to meet the GMC's policy business as usual and recover needs. If you meet the standard for the appointment, but you are not offered a role in the first instance, you will join the project manager pool for six months.

If further roles from across directorates may be made available we will use the appointable pool from this campaign to appoint if applicable.

Due to Covid 19, the successful applicant will commence working from home with a supportive induction package, with a plan to return to an office based role at a later date. As with our usual arrangements we will be able to offer up to two working from home days per week once we have returned to the office.

We strongly believe that diversity of background and experience contributes to a broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to us being a better regulator.

We are working hard to increase the diversity of our staff, and also the diversity of those we work with wherever we can and we would actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. Within our friendly environment, you will have access to a range of learning and development opportunities designed to support your ongoing progression.
