Education Quality Analyst (fixed term contract for 12 months) (GMC3576)

Education Quality Analyst (fixed term contract for 12 months)

Are you a superb communicator who can develop collaborative relationships with professional people? Do you want to gain a fascinating insight into medical education and training, and help raise medical standards across the UK? We’re looking for an Education Quality Analyst to join our Quality Assurance, Monitoring and Improvement team in London or Manchester.

As the UK’s medical regulator, we protect the public by setting, promoting and regulating professional standards not only for qualified doctors’ practice, but also for undergraduate and postgraduate medical education and training.

You’ll work with the organisations that teach and support medical students and doctors in training, and other education providers such as hospitals, general practices and health boards/trusts to assess the quality of undergraduate/postgraduate education and training. This could include conducting virtual or in-person visits to universities wishing to set up a medical school in the UK and medical schools delivering medical education overseas. Each visit will require thorough preparation to understand what needs to be investigated, the confidence to probe and question, an ability to take detailed notes and the written skills to compile accurate, evidence-based reports.

You’ll be self-motivated with the ability to work constructively with colleagues and education providers, and the flexibility to respond to changing priorities against deadlines. You’ll also have good problem-solving skills and knowledge of IT systems, in particular MS Word, Excel and Outlook. You’ll have the ability to gather and analyse information, make judgements on this evidence and then provide feedback in a clear, legible way. Previous quality assurance experience would be beneficial in this role, although not essential.

Initially you may be home based whilst we implement a safe return to the offices.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. Within our friendly environment, you will have access to a range of learning and development opportunities designed to support your ongoing progression.  We offer an attractive salary and benefits package, to find out more please click here.

We strongly believe that diversity of background and experience contributes to the broader collective perspective that will consistently lead to us being a better regulator. We are working hard to increase the diversity of our staff, and also the diversity of those we work with wherever we can and we would actively encourage applicants from diverse backgrounds to apply.

The GMC is a charity registered in England and Wales (1089278) and Scotland (SC037750).
