Advisers/Administrators - Registration and Revalidation

The General Medical Council (GMC) has a number of opportunities currently available for talented Administrators/Advisers. Working as an Administrator/Adviser at the GMC you will enjoy plenty of variety in working with doctors and health professionals, get out from behind your desk for practical tasks and make a positive impact protecting patients.


The GMC helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met. We currently have the following positions available:

  • Assessment Delivery Administrator (2 posts - permanent) *
  • Specialist Applications Adviser (2 posts - 12 month FTC and 6 month FTC) *
  • Registration Adviser (2 posts - 2 year FTC and 12 month FTC)
  • Revalidation Adviser (1 post – 12 month FTC)
  • Applications Adviser (1 post - 12 month FTC)

* Please note when applying for the role of Specialist Applications Adviser and Assessment Delivery Administrator that there is an additional point under the technical knowledge and skills section (point e) that you will need to complete.


To make a difference, you’ll need administrative experience, a keen eye for detail and good prioritisation skills. A confident communicator who can build strong relationships with people face-to-face and by phone and email, you should also be able to work as part of a team and on your own initiative.
