Working with doctors, working for patients

Assessment Assistant

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

We’re looking for a highly motivated and organised individual to fill an Assessment Administrator vacancy in the Assessment Development Team. You’ll need to be a quick and committed learner, with a positive attitude, strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail.

We’ll look to you to provide excellent administrative and organisational support within our team. You will support a range of operational activity, with varied responsibilities. Your duties will range from diary management, travel and room booking, minute taking, stationary and equipment management, email management, proof reading, coordinating colleagues’ access to systems and ah-hoc support across the team.

The team is responsible for the development of the Professional and Linguistic Assessment Board exams, Tests of Competence, Assurance assessments and Revalidation assessments.

Please read the full job description and key skills for details.

In return you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people.  We offer an attractive salary and benefits package including the opportunity to work flexibly and from home one day a week for most roles, as well as a generous annual leave allowance (with the option to buy or sell leave), a defined contribution pension scheme, private medical insurance, health screens, interest free ticket loan and exclusive discounts.  Tax saving schemes enable you to reduce the cost of childcare through our childcare voucher scheme and the cost of buying a bike through our cycle to work scheme.
