Working with doctors, working for patients

Head of Strategy and Data

The General Medical Council helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

We are now seeking to recruit a Head of Strategy and Data who will be responsible for developing and leading the GMC’s data function as well as leading on the development of the IS function’s overall strategic approach.

The GMC is increasingly focused on the strategic approach they take to using their data, and combining it with external data to generate intelligence. The role will involve leading a small team of Enterprise Architects and data professionals, working closely with key internal and external stakeholders to identify risks and opportunities, and working closely with organisation’s Intelligence and Insight Unit (IIU).

The Head of Strategy and Data role offers an excellent opportunity to have significant impact on strategy within a forward-thinking organisation committed to fully utilising its data and innovating wherever necessary.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package.

The GMC values diversity and has made a public commitment to processes and procedures that are fair, objective, transparent and free from discrimination.
