Working with doctors, working for patients

Business Information Officer - Registration and Revalidation

Do you have experience of working with Management Information and data analysis? If so, we’ve got the ideal opportunity for you at the General Medical Council in Manchester.

The General Medical Council (GMC) is the UK's independent medical regulator. We work to protect and promote the health and safety of the public by ensuring proper standards in the practice of medicine and high quality medical education and training.

The Registration and Revalidation directorate are seeking two Business Information Officers for the Business Reporting team to contribute to the development, analysis and maintenance of Management Information and workforce statistics relating to Doctors. You’ll be part of a team based in our Manchester office and will support the directorates operational data requirements, as well as fulfilling data requests from senior management, government departments, the public and the press.

We’ll expect you to quickly acquire knowledge of our Registration and Revalidation processes and data. You’ll need to be comfortable working with senior staff and collaborating with multiple teams in an environment where reporting is often bespoke and needed at short notice. You will require enthusiasm, initiative and an eye for accuracy as well as the ability to work well with a team. You’ll need excellent analytical and communication skills as well as an aptitude for problem solving.  Above all, we expect a commitment to the values of an organisation that is focused on patient safety.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package.

The GMC values diversity and has made a public commitment to processes and procedures that are fair, objective, transparent and free from discrimination. The GMC is a charity registered in England and Wales (1089278) and Scotland (SC037750).
