Working with doctors, working for patients
The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.
Our regional liaison service delivers interactive teaching sessions to doctors and medical students throughout England on the General Medical Council's (GMC) standards and ethical guidance. The regional liaison service explains the role of the GMC as a medical regulator, and engages with doctors so that their views and experiences inform the work of the GMC.
Regional liaison advisers are remote workers supported by a small team based in the GMC's Manchester office. As an administrator in this team you will be responsible for making travel and accommodation bookings, inputting data and intelligence generated by RLA sessions into a database, and a variety of ad hoc tasks.
To be successful in this role you will have strong IT skills in Microsoft Office packages and a willingness to learn. You will be comfortable working across teams within an organisation and dealing with external contacts. You will be comfortable prioritising a busy workload, responding to conflicting deadlines and enjoy working collaboratively with your teammates.
