The General Medical Council helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.
Keeping all staff informed of developments and news is vital to any complex organisation. And that’s where our Internal Communications team comes in. Based within our Marketing Communications section, we liaise with colleagues across the GMC to provide internal communication support and advice, communicate news via a range of channels, and support the planning and implementation of events and activities.
In this busy role, you will support the Internal Communications Manager in the delivery of the full internal communications programme. Your remit will vary from writing and editing internal news items, to building relationships with colleagues and identifying opportunities for innovative, engaging communications. You’ll ensure that all our content is accurate, relevant, timely and in line with our values, tone of voice and corporate strategy.
An experienced writer who enjoys working on digital and offline channels, you’ll bring a proven track record in internal communications. This means you’ll have a sound understanding of best practice techniques together with insight into how internal communications activities need to integrate with PR and stakeholder communications. Your ability to build relationships with colleagues at all levels will set you apart.
