International Liaison and Illegal Practice Adviser (GMC4449)

International Liaison and Illegal Practice Adviser

International Liaison and Illegal Practice Adviser

We have an exciting opportunity available to join the International Liaison and Illegal Practice (ILIP) team. Based within our Registration and Revalidation directorate, the team undertakes a wide variety of duties relating to international information sharing and the investigation of illegal medical practice and registration fraud. You will play a key role in helping the team to achieve its objectives in these areas.

You will help to keep our databases of overseas regulatory information up to date, supporting our colleagues from other areas of the directorate in completing their day-to-day duties. You will be involved in sharing information about fitness to practise decisions with external stakeholders and recording potential fitness to practise concerns about unregistered individuals on our databases where appropriate. You will also manage a small caseload of work relating to overseas regulator research and illegal practice.

The role would suit someone who enjoys being part of a team but is also able to work independently through their own allocated tasks, following approved policies and procedures. You will need to have an extremely keen eye for detail and be able to record information accurately. A flexible attitude is key, with the ability to re-prioritise at short notice if an urgent request is received.

The successful applicant will be expected to work one day a week in the office, in line with the team’s existing schedule. For the first 2-3 weeks of the induction/training period, however, you may need to work in the office every day.

This is a full-time role, but the GMC is happy to support a range of flexible working options. Flexible working requests will be considered in line with the policy.

You can find more detail on the tasks you will undertake, and the essential skills required for the role, in the job description.
