Education Research and Reporting Officer (GMC4511)

Education Research and Reporting Officer

Education Research and Reporting Officer

We are currently looking for an Education Research and Reporting Officer to work in the education and standards directorate. We work to make sure that the education and training that doctors, physician associates (PAs), anaesthesia associates (AAs), receive prepares them to deliver good, safe patient care across the UK.

As part of our quality assurance activities, we ask doctors in training and their trainers about their postgraduate medical education environment and experiences. Each year we run the national training surveys. The results help us check that trainees receive high quality training in a safe and effective clinical environment, and that trainers are well supported in their roles.

The surveys and data collection team designs and runs the surveys. We also share the results through the education data tool and provide analysis in our narrative reports.

The Education Research and Reporting Officer will lead analysis and reporting of the national training surveys and advance our work on fairness in education and training outcomes by:

  • Analysing and interpreting a wide range of evidence sources to producing evidence-based reports for the Education and Standards directorate.
  • Organising and assisting with conducting and analysing focus groups and interviews.
  • Supporting the day to day delivery of the national training surveys.

This is a hybrid role between home working and office working, you’ll work one day minimum a week in the office. We may ask you to attend the office on additional days where necessary.

We are happy to consider a range of flexible working options. Flexible working requests will be considered in line with the policy.

You can find more detail on the tasks you will undertake, and the essential skills required for the role, in the job description.
