Working with doctors, working for patients

PA to Assistant Directors and team administrator,12 FTC & job share

This PA job share role offers a great combination of traditional PA support combined with wider administrative support as part of the central team supporting the Director of Education and Standards (E&S) and the Senior Team. You will be at the centre of a busy and engaging directorate - our Education and Standards work is at the heart of what we do as an organisation.

The General Medical Council (GMC) helps to protect patients and improve medical education and practice in the UK by setting standards for students and doctors. We support them in achieving (and exceeding) those standards, and take action when they are not met.

We’ll look to you to provide excellent PA support to three Assistant Directors and administrative and organisational support within our core support team. It’s a role with varied responsibilities - from diary management and travel booking, to support senior team decision-making and helping to coordinate our directorate work programme.

To join us, you’ll need proven skills in using the Microsoft Office suite of software. You will have prior PA experience and be able to demonstrate strong administration and organisational skills, with the ability to manage your time and balance different priorities. Equally important will be your flair for working with people - especially the person with whom you’ll be sharing the role. A pro-active, self-starter with a ‘can-do’ attitude you will play a vital role in ensuring that as a Directorate we are able to deliver on our commitments.

In return, you’ll benefit from being part of an organisation that is genuinely committed to its people. We offer an attractive salary and benefits package, and are able to offer home working.

The GMC values diversity and has made a public commitment to processes and procedures that are fair, objective, transparent and free from discrimination.
